Clayton High School's DECA chapter has raised a total of $1,254.71 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Last week, the officers, advisors, and Assistant Principal Jeff Sullivan presented a check of $1,054.70 that the chapter had raised this fall to Lindsey Dolan, Family Support and Clinical Care Coordinator for MDA Eastern Carolina. The community service effort started last March when the chapter raised $200.00 for MDA by selling shamrocks during their annual MDA campaign. This year, members participated in several activities, including a wristband sale, Miracle Minute, and a bowling tournament, to raise funds. 9 other teams from Clayton High School clubs competed in the bowling tournament -- FFA, NHS, Interact, Environmental Club, Comets Care, and the winning team, FBLA. Additionally, the DECA chapter purchased over $125.00 worth of art supplies that will be used at MDA camp this summer. DECA, "An Association for Marketing Students," has been a long-time supporter and partner of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
