CHS Students Recognized for Participation in All-American Band

This is the image for the news article titled CHS Students Recognized for Participation in All-American BandClayton Town Council has recognized CHS students Isha Henry and Megan Whitfield for their participation in the nation's premier high school All-American Marching Band. Isha and Megan were nominated by their CHS band director and color guard instructor last year. Selected by the National Association for Music Education in cooperation with All-American Games and Drum Corps International, the students who participate are considered to be the top 125 marching band members in the United States. Megan and Isha performed at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, which has a huge history and tradition of showcasing the most elite high school football players in the country. Not only did they get to perform at the Alamodome to a crows of 40,000 people, broadcast by NBC to a world-wide audience, but their bowl week in Military City, USA was all-expenses-paid and they received instruction from top collegiate color guard instructors. It was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience! Congratulations, Megan and Isha! Mayor Jody McLeod is pictured along with Megan and Isha.
