The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
The PSAT/NMSQT measures skills that are important for success in college including verbal reasoning, critical reading, math and writing. It is also used for screening for Advanced Placement courses. For Juniors, the PSAT is the qualifying test for entry to the National Merit Scholarship competitions for college scholarship. It is excellent practice for the SAT.
The PSAT is free for Juniors and $15 for Sophomores. Forms should be returned to Ms. Maready in the testing office no later than Friday, Sept. 9. All students are expected to furnish their own calculators.
A list of acceptable calculators can be found on page 24 of the guide.
Due to the large number of students to sign up we have had to order extra student guides. While your student is waiting for those to come they can access the PSAT Practice Test from this link: http://bit.ly/1MNtgmq. Please make sure you review this information with them.
