The PreACT is a required state test for all Sophomores
It will be given Friday, October 14, 2016
Students should bring 2 #2 pencils and an approved calculator
North Carolina added the PreACT test as a new state test for all 10th graders in 2016. PreACT, given to all sophomores in October, measures a student's academic progress and is aligned with the ACT test for juniors in assessing whether students are prepared for success in college and future careers.
PreACT scores can be used by both students and teachers for academic instruction and focus.
A student's score on the PreACT is also important because it is one of the qualifiers used to determine CCP class eligibility. Juniors may take CCP classes if their PreACT score along with their GPA meets CCP requirements.
For more information, consult North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Students should consult the PreACT website.
